Count your blessings from yesterday but in your prayers, speak to tomorrow . . .
Dear Tomorrow,
I look forward to seeing you soon. I have great hopes for you.
I wish to tell you who I want to be. I want to wake up expectantly with gratitude. I do not want to waste you.
I have plans. I know you have plans of your own. I’ll find out about them as they come but I want to begin with a plan so I don’t have to think about everything from scratch.
I mean my plans, not as arrogance, but as a compliment, as a token of my appreciation. I know how quickly you can slip away unappreciated.
What do I want to do?
Pray. Work. Play. Serve. Encourage. I want to make you count.
Here’s a schedule. I know I do not control you, but I thought maybe, if my plans are good enough, you might play along.
But come what may, I will do my best by you. I will try to leave the past behind and not drag yesterday’s mistakes into you.
You are hope, a rebirth, a fresh start. You deserve my best efforts. I look forward to you.
I lay down counting the blessings of today, asking forgiveness of my mistakes, and resting in the promise of a new day.
See you soon.
Your biggest fan,
Me
