The car needed new brakes today. So I borrowed my son’s truck, dropped off the car and, well, trucks go where trucks want to go. I ended up in my favorite canyon (How did the truck know?) and explored the boulders in the water for a while.

There, in an area that floods whenever a heavy thunderstorm hits, was a leafless, twisted, bent, beleaguered tree. I wanted to take it home. Take a look . . .
