I took pictures. I made notes. I had one interesting moment. That’s it.
I was expecting to have a difficult day at the hospital with Mom. All of the elements for a fun-free afternoon were there. None of them happened.
It took less than an hour. I’m pretty sure that if I complained about that lightning would strike.
The results were good. Again, thanks instead of complaints are in order.
We even got Starbucks on the way home.
I had time to take Nessie to the canyon where she learned the fine art of crossing a rocky, mountain waterfall. She was gleeful when she realized what she had done!
Hmm. So, the banner headline of the day is:
Don’t worry about problems that don’t exist.
I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them have never happened. ~ Mark Twain
“Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen.
Keep in the sunlight.”
― Benjamin FranklinYour success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties.
Helen KellerBut seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. – Jesus (Matthew 6:33-34 HSCB)
Hey Dennis, I so appreciate your writing and your topics. Your words really ring true.
Here is a quote which always brings me tremendous encouragement:
ATTITUDE
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.”
Chuck Swindoll
Thanks Bob. Great quote. I totally agree. Swindoll really said it succinctly and powerfully. I’m going to have to check out more of his work.
