Today I have to start all over.
Today I get to begin again.
Today I get no credit for the good I did yesterday.
Today I am forgiven for yesterday’s sin.
Today I must find hope among the ashes.
Today there is no less hope to find.
Today is hard and cold and long.
Today is one day closer to springtime.
I can wreck today if I want with yesterday’s disillusion
Or I can move forward with today’s hope as my guide.
But no matter what method or madness I choose
If I’m very fortunate, very blessed, tomorrow I get to choose again.
This is such a true and powerful concept! Reminds me of the beautiful words spoken by the writer of Lamentations: Lam 3:22-23 “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
