I thought I’d share one of my favorite waterfalls. They are everywhere around here. A natural result of mountains, rain and gravity. Like this one, most have no names. Many only exist for a few minutes after a hard storm.
This one cuts across an old mining rail bed which makes it just the right distance from civilization. Easy to get to but too far for casual drive-bys. There’s a crowded Wal-Mart within a short drive. Most people don’t know this exists. Everyone knows where the Wal-Mart is. There’s something wrong with that.
It carves rocks from the top of the mountain to North Chickamauga Creek some 800 feet below.
I usually have it all to myself.
Countless studies prove the benefits of being in nature. It reduces the effects of stress, relieves depression, increases your immune system and fires up your creativity.
It’s almost as if we were made for each other.
I shot this video using my iPhone for everything on an average hike on a cloudy day. It looks better than this now. I’m trying to share some of the amazing places I’ve found without turning it into home movies. Let me know what you think.
Love the video and narration! Reminds me of the end of “Sunday Morning.” Good job!
Thanks Mark. Love “Sunday Morning.” One of these days we’re going to climb that mountain.
