The idea that there are many paths to God is a truism – a truth-like substance.
It seems like truth and it smells like truth but it isn’t true. It’s diet truth. It’s like online friends. It’s a sit-com script. It’s a movie “inspired by” a true story . . . that somebody repeated . . . sometime . . . to someone.
We should be able to spot it easily but we live in a world of fake news where the story matters more than the facts. The Narrative, they call it. It’s a world where gaining your attention, your eyeballs on a screen, can make them millions. Even billions. But actual truth can cost you money, or your career, or your social status. Or your life.
In such a twisted environment, we shouldn’t be surprised that we only find the truth hidden under a pile of profitable lies. So, where is the lie here?
The truth is that Jesus isn’t a path to God. Jesus IS GOD.
God chose to come to earth in human form, in the flesh, in order to pay the price that would have cost us everything. The price for sin, for rebelling against God, is death. That’s what we’ve earned. But God became human to take on that death for us so that justice could be done and we could still live.
Love and justice, that’s what we get through Jesus.
He was not just a good man or a fine religious leader. He was not one path among many. Because He was God. And that sacrifice was sufficient to cover all the sins humanity could commit. Forever.
Jesus is the only way because there is no other god to die for you. There is only God. One way is all there is, because one way is all you need.
So, instead of trying to find another way to the only God that exists, try thanking God that there is a way at all.

How amazing is this truth! Thank you for sharing it Dennis!
It is indeed. Thank you, Bob.
A very clear presentation of the truth. In our world today, many people want to create their own spiritual truth, but if there is such a thing as spiritual truth, and I believe there is, then you can’t invent it, you must discover it and decide whether or not you will accept it or reject it. It’s interesting to me that in every other school of thought, whether it be mathematics, physics, medicine, biology, etc, there are accepted core truths these disciplines are built on. However, when it comes to spirituality, they say you can just create your own truth. But if you accept that there is a spiritual realm, then discovering spiritual truth, which exist independently of what you think about it, becomes a very important enterprise. Thankfully, God has not left us without a source for spiritual discovery. God’s revealed word, the Bible will guide you to the very truth Dennis presents in this blog!
Thank you, Larry.
One of the things I learned when I started teaching audio is that often students have no idea what I’m talking about because I haven’t explained the basics. We are not even speaking the same language, yet. But being simple and clear without leaving something out is hard.
So, thank you for pointing out that the Truth I’m trying to talk about comes from the Bible! In attempting to write about my core beliefs, I left out the most obvious foundation of all – scripture!
